Rabiot Sets Up Thuram, but Shot Goes Wide
The highly-anticipated match between Netherlands and France at Euro 2024 ended in a 0-0 draw, with both teams missing several chances to win the game. The closest chance came in the dying minutes when Adrien Rabiot found Marcus Thuram in the box, but Thuram's shot from 22 yards out went wide. The result leaves both teams level on points in Group D, with the Netherlands currently in second place on goal difference.
The Netherlands had the better chances in the first half, with Steven Bergwijn forcing a good save from Hugo Lloris and Memphis Depay heading wide from close range. France came out stronger in the second half and had their own chances, with Kylian Mbappé and Antoine Griezmann both going close. However, it was the Netherlands who had the best chance of the match, when Thuram was set up by Rabiot but couldn't find the target.
The draw means that both teams need to win their final group games to be sure of reaching the round of 16. The Netherlands will face Germany, while France will play Portugal. The matches will be played on June 26th.
