Calgary Flames to Retire Miikka Kiprusoff's Number

"Kipper's" Number to Join Flames Legends in the Rafters

Jersey Retirement Night Set for March 2nd

The Calgary Flames have announced that they will be retiring the number of legendary goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff. Kiprusoff, who played for the Flames from 2003 to 2013, will become the fourth Flames player to have his number retired, joining Lanny McDonald, Al MacInnis, and Jarome Iginla.

Kiprusoff was one of the most dominant goaltenders in the NHL during his time with the Flames. He won the Vezina Trophy as the league's top goaltender in 2006 and 2007, and helped the Flames reach the Stanley Cup Finals in 2004. He also represented Finland in the Olympics and World Championships.

The Flames will retire Kiprusoff's number on March 2nd, when they host the Nashville Predators. The ceremony will take place before the game, and Kiprusoff will be joined by his former teammates and coaches.

Kiprusoff's retirement is a fitting tribute to one of the greatest players in Flames history. He was a key member of the team's success during his time in Calgary, and his number will forever hang in the rafters as a reminder of his contributions to the franchise.
