What is Borrowed Knowledge?

Borrowed Knowledge is a 5th-level divination spell in Dungeons & Dragons that allows the caster to draw on the knowledge of spirits of the past. The spell can be used to gain proficiency in a skill that the caster does not already have.

How Does Borrowed Knowledge Work?

To cast Borrowed Knowledge, the caster must choose a skill in which they lack proficiency. The caster then makes an Intelligence (Arcana) check. The DC of the check is 10 + the caster's level. If the caster succeeds on the check, they gain proficiency in the chosen skill for 1 hour.
